NOTICE THAT Shiprock Associated Schools, Inc. is requesting proposals from qualified occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech and language pathologist, and educational diagnosticians for school year 2017-2018 to assist the Special Education department. Proposals will be evaluated based on certifications, years of relevant work experience, cost, background investigation, and availability. English Language Arts Teacher
Senior level position responsible for teaching English language arts subjects to students at the high school level, using various teaching methods, such as lectures and demonstrations, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations. Responsible for preparing course objectives and the outline for the course of study following curriculum guidelines and the requirements of the state and the school; assigning lessons and correcting homework; administering tests to evaluate pupil progress, recording the results and issuing reports to inform parents of their son or daughter’s progress; keeping attendance records; maintaining discipline in the classroom; meeting with parents to discuss their student’s progress and problems; participating in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops; and performing related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities of student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting courses of study, and counseling students with adjustment and academic problems.
This position requires a Master’s Degree in English, Literature or related language arts field. Eligibility for NM specialty area teacher licensure with language arts endorsement is also required.
